Gabriel Dawe at the Marlborough Gallery

It’s rare that I leave Chelsea uninspired. Following a visit to the Marlborough Gallery to see Gabriel Dawe’s installation, I found this talk by van der Heide on TED, which inherently pairs well with Dawe’s work. The concept behind Dawe's work exploring light and dark is simple, yet when explored in depth, the work forces one to think about how contrasting colors gel together in both controlled and natural environments. I've viewed Dawe’s work while lit by interior lighting, but think these installations work exceptionally well near natural light, where the work connotes a transcendental state, an environment that is complimentary to his type of string theory.
